New Dean in the House; Meet Vanier’s New Staff Member

As of August 1st 2023, Vanier will be welcoming Sandrina Joseph, the new Academic Dean.

For context, this position in the college is a very important one as it entails overseeing every academic and administrative operation within the College. The Academic Dean acts as the liaison between students, faculty, other staff members, and administrators. The position further entails serving as a public representation to outsiders.

John McMahon has announced that this decision was approved by the Vanier College Board of Directors who followed recommendations from the Board Selection Committee and the Academic Council.

According to the DG, her leadership and “strong pedagogical vision[s]” are what qualify Joseph for this job.

Sandrina is largely qualified to fill the shoes of this position as she has been working in the post-secondary education sector for the past 20 years. She has done both administrative and faculty work; she knows her way around. Sandrina is currently working as a Faculty Dean at Lionel-Groulx where she spends her days managing and overseeing various programs. She is fluently bilingual in English and in French, pushing the insecurities of Bill 96 aside that are ahead and assuring some stability for the school’s administration.

We cannot wait to welcome Sandrina Joseph. The new glue to our College!
